Saharan Dust over the Mediterranean at Sunset (28 Jan)

While I was on the Greek Cyclades island of Amorgos, Saharan Dust carried over the Mediterranean sea by the Meltemi winds made for an exceptional sunset. The Meltemi  Winds are similar to the Scirocco winds that bring Saharan dust to Venice. Residents of the small town came out onto the streets as cell phone and television signals were disrupted by the dust. This is another instance of atmospheric phenomenon creating multiple ambiences.
